Pastor Kevin Schmidt
After earning a Masters Degree in Pastoral Studies, Pastor Kevin Schmidt spent his early years of ministry in South Carolina and Indiana. But for the last 40 years, he has been the pastor and teacher and shepherd of our church family in Sonora, CA. Our pastor loves God and loves people, and that special heart is clearly demonstrated when he opens the Word for us each Sunday. His messages are encouraging and always clearly communicate God’s Word. Personally, he is approachable and a real “people person”. Pastor Kevin is married to Doreen, and the Schmidts have three grown children who continue to serve the Lord in South Carolina, Colorado, and California.
Brian Magwood – Adult Bible Teacher
After growing up locally in Twain Harte and then spending time at the Air Force Academy in CO, Brian Magwood settled down and started his career in the Sonora area. For over 30 years, Brian has been an active member of Grace Baptist Church, serving in multiple capacities. For most of those years, he has been our Adult Bible Teacher. He is a man of God, who loves Christ supremely and handles the Word with accuracy.
Shanon Brown – Deaconess
Shanon runs her own business during the week, where she regularly points her clients to the Lord and to our Church Family. And on Sundays she serves as a key organizer and influencer at Grace. Her love for the Lord and for God’s people motivate her service as our Financial Secretary and social media coordinator.
Mona Gaskill – Church Hostess / Deaconess
Mona also runs her own business, but finds time to pray, counsel, organize, and encourage. Although her primary title is Church Hostess, her cheerful enthusiasm and Christ-exalting influence impacts all aspects of our ministry. It is not unusual to hear that, despite her schedule, Mona is always ready to help a friend in need.
